Mario Bosca

The Early Years

Mario E. Bosca was the second son of Hugo Bosca, the founder of Bosca Accessories. Born in 1921, Mario spent his youth in Springfield, Ohio where he graduated from Springfield South High School. Mario attended Duke University and wasted no time receiving his bachelor's degree in engineering in just three years. His knack for efficiency and process development was a natural talent.

After WWII, Mario returned home to join the family business. With his background in engineering, he gravitated towards design and manufacturing with his attention on sample making, pattern design, and manufacturing process development. One of Christopher Bosca's, Marios son and current CEO, fondest memories, was seeing his father on Sunday mornings in his favorite chair surrounded by pages of sketches, product designs, and ideas. Mario's drive to produce only the highest quality products with the highest quality materials led him back to his families roots in Italy.

Bosca and Italy Reunited

Florence, Italy
At the time, all of Bosca's leather was sourced within the United States. Mario would settle for nothing but the finest leathers in the world. One Day Mario went to the stock room to pick out a gift for a friend. He was unable to find exactly what he wanted and decided that it was time to expand his vision. That is when he began exploring Italian tanneries known for their quality leathers. He discovered a family owned tannery producing the finest men's wallets with impeccable detail, design, and quality. With the family's relationship to Italy rekindled, close bonds formed and the finest leather began making its way to Springfield, Ohio. The family connections and friendships made over 50 years ago remain to this day.

Engineering The Future

Mario took great pride in his family and the business. He enjoyed running Bosca Accessories along side his brother Orsino and his new friends in Italy. His tenacity paired with his ingenuity persisted until the end of his life. He left a mark on the world and Bosca Accessories. He instilled values and standards that are the bedrock of how we operate today. You can see it in our products, which we believe are the finest leather goods in the world. Stay tuned for the next evolution in the history of Bosca Accessories; Christopher Bosca.
